The virtues

  1. Self-masterythis week

    Maintain command over your thoughts, actions, and habits. Act with a strong will.

  2. Temperance

    Restrain from excess; eat not to dullness, drink not to elevation.

  3. Honesty

    Speak and act only in accordance with the truth; deceive no one, least of all yourself.

  4. Justice

    Wrong none by doing injuries, nor omit the benefits that are your duty.

  5. Equanimity

    Be not disturbed by trifles, nor by accidents common or unavoidable.

  6. Humility

    Take no more credit than is your due; remain open to correction.

  7. Industry

    Lose no time; be always employed in something useful; cut off all unnecessary actions.

  8. Silence

    Speak only what may benefit others or yourself; avoid trifling conversation.

  9. Order

    Let all your things have their places; let each part of your business have its time.

  10. Resolution

    Resolve to perform what you ought; perform without fail what you resolve.

  11. Cleanliness

    Tolerate no uncleanliness in body, clothes, or habitation.

  12. Kindness

    Seek to do good to others; be gentle in all your dealings.
